Manage your meter readings from the office with
MasterLinx.
The newly developed DIALOG Extended Drive-By System using new Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum (DSSS) meter with
up to 5 times the range of the very successful DIALOG 3G®. Like the 3G the new DSSS will be a completely
self-contained meter with new data logging capabilities, no external wiring or connections needed, using advanced
Wireless RF® communications. Much wider areas may be covered with this new system requiring significantly less time
to collect meter reads and is well suited for urban, as well as rural communities.
The DSSS meter is the same meter used for both the new Extended Drive-By System and the new DIALOG Fixed Base Network
designed for remote reads. Therefore, a combination of the New Extended Drive-By and the New Fixed Base Network
to match the requirement of the utility for large area service of urban and rural communities is a logical solution.
The new DIALOG Fixed Base Network is compatible with all the existing AMR systems deployed with the DIALOG 3G and
is a base for expansion when considering future plans in drive-by, fixed base networking or any combinations.
The DIALOG Fixed Base Network is designed for internet access. The meter reads are collected by local neighborhood
repeaters and passed on to a collector that is linked to a central computer via a variety of telecommunications options
(land line, cellular, Ethernet, 802.11x). The computer is linked to an internet connection that posts the collected data
to a secure website for access by the utility for billing, customer service and technical service. An internet service
for DIALOG Fixed Base Network Data Services based on an annual subscription fee. Login with "Demo" and "123456" to view the site.
Basic service includes internet access to meter readings from any web browser. Readings are uploaded daily and stored
in a password protected non-shared SQL Server database. On-Line request for a meter reading can be made at any time.
Readings can be exported for billing simple text files compatible with most billing software. A reading history is
maintained for each meter allowing your customer service representatives to view charts and graphs displaying daily usage
and customer usage trends. Because this usage history is available the system will automatically generate a system status
report listing meters with no usage over an extended period of time, excess usage and possible leaks based on variance
percentages provided by the utility. Of course of the standard DIALOG alarms are reported.
Additional service options include faxed and email notifications of the system status report described above. The system
also allows the utility to create meter groups or zones by assigning individual service meters to a zone or master meter.
This feature can give real time water loss information and notify the system operator when the difference between water
delivered through the zone meter and individual service meters varies beyond and allowed percentage.
GSM modem service can be provided in most locations to avoid having to place the reading equipment in a less than desirable
location just to be near a phone line.
Greentree also offers on-site installation and training for the reading equipment and internet site. Site plan review for
reading equipment placement and quantities is also provided.
Should the utility decide to handle the operation themselves, then Greentree will provide complete training and service to
set-up the utility site and any on-going service needed to ensure a successful intranet operation.
